JESUS CHRIST – Jesus Christ is at the center of who we are and what we do. We desire to know Him and make Him known to others. Jesus says to us, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). He came to give us the fullest life with God. Jesus is the perfect truth, the very word of God. He forgives, heals, brings new life, gives hope, enables us to do greater things, and brings purpose to every area of our lives. When we turn from sin and self to make Jesus our leader, then He will help us become better parents, workers, friends, citizens, spouses, students, and team players, achieving any goal God may call us to. He brings a fresh start and a full life to anyone who will truly follow Him. He says, “Come to me if you’re weary, and you will find rest for your soul” (Matthew 11:28). Our desire is to accurately connect the truth in Jesus Christ from God’s Word to our everyday lives in order to be transformed from the inside out.
RELATIONSHIPS – We also desire to live out Jesus through our relationships. The quality of our life is determined by our relationships. Jesus Christ came to give life to us so that we might bring that life to one another in the context of genuine relationships. He says, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). As we open our lives to one another for growth, support, and celebration around the word of Christ, we are changed. Each one of us desperately needs this genuine unmasked connection. We need to know others deeply, and be known by them. We can move around many people but still find ourselves lonely. This is why we seek to cultivate a cultural network of relational groups in Christ. Each group can be a safe place where we eat together, laugh, and learn to better know, encourage, and serve one another. In everything we do, Genesis strives to foster meaningful relationships with God and each other.
MISSIONAL LIVING – Jesus came not to be served, but to serve others and give up His life for us (Mark 10:45). We desire to serve others because Jesus did. We also desire to be proactive like Jesus by serving anyone we lock eyes with. People everywhere this side of heaven are broken and in need. This includes the store cashier, the gas station attendant, the CEO, and the homeless person. It also includes our neighbors, family members, co-workers, as well as you and me. We are given a purposeful, revolutionary mission by a worthy leader to love the world with truth in Jesus Christ. We are not only to be lights, but laser beams piercing the hearts of others with his unconditional friendship and intentional love. At Genesis, we strive to rise up a group of people who will impact the world with Jesus Christ by unconditionally caring and serving others all around them. To serve Jesus by serving our world is our desire
